The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen by washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, plates, glasses, cutlery, cooking utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment. The employee must ensure that all kitchen items are properly cleaned, dried, organised, and stored in their designated places. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Wash and sanitise dishes, glasses, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils. Operate dishwashing machines and use appropriate cleaning products safely. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in dishwashing areas, kitchen floors, and work surfaces. Remove food waste and dispose of rubbish according to workplace procedures. Ensure clean dishes and utensils are properly dried, organised, and stored. Assist kitchen staff with basic cleaning and preparation duties when required. Clean kitchen equipment, sinks, shelves, and storage areas. Maintain sufficient supplies of detergents, cleaning materials, and sanitising products. Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations. Report damaged equipment, shortages, or maintenance issues to the supervisor. Keep the dishwashing area clean, safe, and organised throughout the working shift. Assist with general kitchen cleaning and closing duties when required.
