We are working with a local private school who are looking for a part-timer to join their team and assist with Finance and payroll duties.

This role is on a part-time basis, where you will be expected to work around 25 hours per week, until 2pm. Hours will be reduced significantly during summer time.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate bookkeeping records, including posting invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial transactions.
Perform regular bank and account reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
Process monthly payroll, including salaries, deductions, leave, and other employee-related payments.
Ensure payroll records are maintained accurately and that payroll-related deadlines and statutory requirements are met.
Assist with employee registrations, terminations, and payroll-related documentation as required.
Act as the main point of contact for employee questions and queries in relation to payroll.
Prepare and process payments to suppliers and other third parties, ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained.
Maintain accurate records relating to fees, including receipts, outstanding balances, and payment allocations.
Provide general administrative and accounting support to the Finance team.
Assist with year-end procedures, audits, and other financial projects as required.
Ensure all financial information is handled with a high level of confidentiality.

Requirements

Previous experience in book-keeping, payroll, or a similar accounting role.
Good understanding of payroll and basic accounting principles.
Familiarity with SAGE is a plus.
Fluency in English & Maltese.
Confident and able to work independently.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
