The Role

We are looking for a Breakfast Chef to join our team on a full-time basis.

The main responsibility of this role is to prepare, set up and look after our continental breakfast buffet. The role also includes baking, preparing food, ordering stock and cleaning the kitchen and breakfast area after service.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and set up the daily continental breakfast buffet
Keep the breakfast buffet full, fresh, clean and well presented during service
Bake and prepare cakes, pastries, sweets and savoury items for use throughout the day
Prepare and heat breakfast items as needed
Clear the breakfast buffet after service
Clean the kitchen, breakfast area, equipment and work surfaces after service
Make sure the kitchen and food areas are kept clean and hygienic at all times
Check stock levels and order food and drinks when needed
Deal with suppliers and check that orders are delivered correctly and on time
Store food correctly and check expiry dates
Help to reduce food waste
Carry out other reasonable duties when needed to help with the smooth running of the hotel

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Ideally has previous experience working with breakfast, baking or food preparation
Enjoys working with food and takes pride in good presentation
Is reliable, organised and able to work independently
Can work well and stay organised during busy breakfast service
Has good attention to detail
Can manage stock, orders and deliveries
Can communicate in English
Is available to work on a roster, including weekends and public holidays
Holds a valid Food Handling Certificate
Understands basic food safety and hygiene requirements

We will only consider candidates who are currently living in Malta and hold a valid Skills Pass certificate. Candidates who need a Maltese work permit may also be considered, and we can provide support with the application process where applicable.
