🔐 Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled IP Network Engineer to join Epic’s Technology Operations team. This role is critical to the design, implementation, reliability, and security of Epic’s network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal performance across corporate offices, data centres, and virtual environments.

You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and securing IP networks that support business‑critical systems and services. Working closely with internal IT teams, external vendors, and stakeholders, you will ensure high availability, strong security posture, and continuous improvement of our network landscape.

This role requires a proactive, hands‑on engineer with strong troubleshooting skills, a solid understanding of modern networking technologies, and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team. Participation in troubleshooting and support activities for operational issues is a key part of this role.

The position also involves participation in a 24×7 on‑call roster, supporting business‑critical systems and ensuring service continuity outside standard working hours.

💼 What You’ll Be Doing

Design & Implementation:

Design and implement network architectures and blueprints aligned with business and technical requirements
Install, configure, and maintain network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless access points
Implement and manage IP addressing schemes, VLANs, and routing protocols

Maintenance & Support:

Perform routine network health checks, upgrades, and patching activities
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for LAN, WAN, and wireless infrastructure
Support end‑users, on‑site teams, and internal stakeholders with network‑related issues

Network Security:

Administer firewalls and security appliances, enforcing network security policies and best practices
Implement and manage secure communications, including VPNs and IPSec tunnels
Monitor threats, support incident response, and contribute to ongoing security improvements

Monitoring & Optimization:

Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity
Diagnose and resolve outages, faults, and performance degradation
Identify opportunities to improve network efficiency, resilience, and scalability

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain accurate network diagrams, standards, and configuration documentation
Provide operational reports and input for capacity planning and upgrade projects
Contribute to planning and execution of network expansion and improvement initiatives

🎯 What We’re Looking For

Degree or diploma in Computer Networking, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar networking role within an enterprise environment.
Strong knowledge of IP networking and network infrastructure concepts.
Hands-on experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, and access points.
Experience supporting LAN, WAN, and wireless network environments.
Solid understanding of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, QoS, VLANs (802.1Q), wireless standards (802.11), VPNs, and IPSec.
Experience with network security technologies and best practices. Experience with Check Point and Cisco ASA firewalls will be considered an asset.
Ability to create and maintain accurate network diagrams, technical documentation, and operational procedures.
Experience providing technical input for network hardware and software selection, upgrades, and infrastructure projects.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and implement effective solutions.
Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing business and technical requirements.
Well-organized with strong time management and prioritization skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Cisco CCNA certification (required).
Cisco CCNP certification (preferred).
Comfortable working across corporate offices, data centres, and virtual/cloud-based network environments.
