Valletta Gateway Terminals Ltd is a joint venture between Portek Group of Singapore and Tumas Group of Malta. It was established on the 9th of June 2006, and on the 1st of July of the same year, the Malta Maritime Authority awarded the company a 30-year concession agreement to operate and manage the Grand Harbour Terminals. Being multi-purpose, the terminals can handle roll-on / Roll-off (RoRo) operations, trailers, containers, conventional cargo and also vehicles.

Duties

Manage the IT department, including hiring, training and guiding IT staff, to ensure smooth functioning of the IT department
Review and put in place workflows and SOPPs for the IT department
Ensure compliance according to the SOPPs and standards set
Oversee and ensure protection of the company’s Information Technology Infrastructure and data
Oversee and maintain all IT software, infrastructure and equipment, such as Routers, Firewalls, Web Filtering, Antivirus Platforms
Plan, source and procure IT hardware and/or software as required by the Company
Coordinate and manage IT-related projects, such as TMS system upgrade, infrastructure upgrade, etc
Plan, implement and train employees on current and/or new systems used in the Company
Ensure Disaster Recovery and backup protocols and processes are in place to guarantee business continuity
Raise the cybersecurity awareness of employees in the Company
Plan and manage the annual IT department budget
Prepare regular reports relating to the IT department for management reporting
Willing to assist during weekends / after office hours should the need arise

Experience / Qualifications:

Minimum of 6 years working experience, 3 of which managing a team
Degree in Information Technology or Industry Standard Qualifications ( CCNA / MCSE / MCSA )
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate effectively at both technical and executive levels
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, perform effectively under pressure, and respond to critical incidents or emergencies outside normal working hours
Hands-on experience with Microsoft enterprise platforms, with demonstrable depth in: Microsoft SharePoint administration (on-premises and online) and Microsoft Hybrid Exchange administration
