COMPANY OVERVIEW

DLI Contractors Ltd is one of Malta's established MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) contractors, delivering complex, multi-discipline installations across hospitality, commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial and public-sector projects throughout Malta and Gozo. Headquartered in Mosta, we employ over 150 people — licensed electricians, plumbers, team leaders, engineers, project managers and support staff — working together on some of the island's most demanding builds.

Our work increasingly covers the systems that define modern, energy-efficient buildings: high-efficiency HVAC and heat-pump systems, solar PV, EV charging, smart lighting controls, fire detection and building management systems. With a strong forward pipeline, we are investing in people who want to take ownership, grow their careers and help shape DLI's next phase of growth.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for an MEP Quantity Surveying Executive to support the commercial management of our projects from tender through to final account. You will prepare BOQs and estimates, track costs against budget and help make sure every project is delivered profitably.

You will work closely with the Drafting & QS Manager, project managers and procurement, gaining hands-on experience across the full commercial lifecycle of MEP projects. This is an ideal role for someone looking to build a strong QS career with real responsibility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Estimating & Tendering

▪ Carry out quantity take-offs from MEP drawings and specifications.

▪ Prepare and price BOQs and cost estimates using supplier quotations, labour rates and cost data.

▪ Prepare enquiry packages and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.

▪ Support the preparation of tender submissions with the tendering team.

Cost Control

▪ Set up project budgets at contract award and track actual costs against them.

▪ Prepare monthly cost reports and cost-to-complete forecasts, flagging overspends and risks early.

▪ Check material orders against BOQ quantities to control waste and over-ordering.

▪ Value and record variations, and support the claims team with payment applications.

Subcontracts & Final Accounts

▪ Help prepare subcontract and supply agreements and check them against scope.

▪ Assess subcontractor payment applications against work completed on site.

▪ Support the preparation and agreement of final accounts with clients and subcontractors.

▪ Maintain organised commercial records for every project.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential

▪ Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Services, Construction Management or a related field.

▪ Minimum 2 years' QS or estimating experience in construction or MEP.

▪ Strong understanding of BOQs, measurement and MEP terminology.

▪ Ability to read MEP drawings and carry out accurate take-offs.

▪ Advanced Excel skills.

▪ Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.

▪ Excellent spoken and written English.

▪ Based in Malta, with a valid driving licence for site visits.

Preferred

▪ Direct experience on MEP or building services projects.

▪ Working towards RICS, CIOB or equivalent membership.

▪ Experience with take-off or estimating software (CostX, Bluebeam or similar).

▪ Familiarity with FIDIC, JCT or local contract forms.

▪ Knowledge of the Maltese supply chain and market rates.

▪ Maltese language skills.

WHAT WE OFFER

▪ Competitive salary, commensurate with your experience.

▪ Full-time, indefinite employment with an established and growing MEP contractor.

▪ Hands-on experience across the full commercial lifecycle, from tender to final account.

▪ Support for professional qualifications and chartership.

▪ A varied portfolio of hospitality, commercial, residential, healthcare and public projects.
