Virtu Ferries Limited – Malta is seeking a skilled, motivated, and reliable Marine Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out servicing, preventive maintenance, and repairs on marine engines and mechanical systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot engine and mechanical faults efficiently.
Perform engine installations, inspections, and repairs.
Maintain and repair marine propulsion systems, pumps, and other onboard machinery.
Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
Monitor and maintain an inventory of spare parts and raise requisition orders as required.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience as a Marine Mechanic or in a similar mechanical role.
Sound knowledge of marine engines, mechanical systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
The ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
A strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
Relevant qualifications or certifications in marine mechanics will be considered an advantage.
A highly motivated, organised, and professional approach, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced maritime environment.
Willingness to occasionally report for duty to attend to urgent out-of-hours matters and weekend emergencies.
Legal status to live and work in Malta.
Ability to travel within the EU without restrictions.
A valid Maltese driving licence.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Basic computer skills.
