Senior Human Resources Executive

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys taking ownership, developing people and driving initiatives across different business units.

The role will lead the Group’s Learning and Development and Recruitment functions, ensuring consistent processes, effective talent acquisition and opportunities for employee growth across our businesses. You will also play an important role in strengthening employee engagement, retention and the overall employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Learning and Development

  • Lead the Group’s Learning and Development strategy, including training needs analysis, annual training plans and budgets.

  • Identify, develop and coordinate training programmes that support operational needs and employee development.

  • Oversee mandatory, compliance and professional development training, ensuring accurate records and monitoring completion.

  • Evaluate training effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Manage external training providers, funding opportunities and departmental training initiatives.

  • Coordinate health, safety and mental health awareness training in collaboration with the relevant teams.

• Recruitment and Talent Attraction

  • Lead and coordinate recruitment activities across Bay Street Group, from vacancy approval and job advertising through to selection and onboarding.

  • Develop and maintain consistent recruitment processes, standards and documentation.

  • Implement and manage the Group’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ensuring effective workflows, reporting and data management.

  • Support and guide hiring managers in structured interviewing and fair selection practices.

  • Lead recruitment campaigns for senior, specialist and high-volume positions.

  • Strengthen direct sourcing initiatives and relationships with recruitment agencies and educational institutions.

  • Monitor recruitment performance through regular reporting and analysis.

• Employee Experience and Organisational Development

  • Analyse probation, exit interview and turnover data to identify trends and recommend improvements.

  • Support the development of structured onboarding and induction programmes across the Group.

  • Contribute to career development, succession planning and skills development initiatives.

  • Drive employee engagement, retention and people development initiatives.

  • Work with management teams to identify organisational needs and develop practical people plans.

• HR Support and Team Development

  • Act as a senior point of contact for HR matters, supporting the Group HR Manager with complex employee relations cases.

  • Coach and mentor junior members of the HR team, supporting their professional development.

  • Provide operational HR support and cover when required.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, systems and reporting.

  • Ensure HR practices remain aligned with Group standards and applicable Maltese employment legislation.

What We Are Looking For

• Previous experience in a generalist HR role in Malta, with strong exposure to recruitment and learning and development.

• Good understanding of recruitment processes, employee development and HR practices.

• Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Excellent written and spoken English communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work with employees and management at all levels.

• A proactive approach, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and turn ideas into practical solutions.

• High levels of discretion, professionalism and confidentiality.
