Our client, operating within the transportation sector, is seeking to recruit a Legal Intern to join their growing Compliance Department.

The primary purpose of this position is to support the Legal Team with day-to-day legal tasks and activities. Once the Legal Intern becomes fully independent in managing their responsibilities, they may have the opportunity to work from home, subject to agreement with the Head of Compliance.

The role is based on standard office hours from Monday to Friday, on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

Assisting the Legal team in its daily legal tasks.
Carrying out legal research as required.
Following the development of and analysing new laws and case law.
Preparing legal documentation and reviewing agreements.
Communicating with various other teams and stakeholders across the business.
Maintaining the legal filing system and ensuring it is organised.
Learning and developing expertise on transport, employment, commercial, competition and corporate legal matters, amongst others.
Any other duties related to the job position that may be required depending on the exigencies of the business at the time.

Requirements

Completed first year of law course;
Basic office management knowledge;
Good writing and communication skills in both Maltese and English.
