Kitchen Helper

The Kitchen Helper will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring that the kitchen and surrounding areas are kept clean, tidy and organised.

Duties shall include, but are not limited to: 1. Assisting the cook or chef with basic food preparation, including washing, peeling and chopping vegetables. 2. Washing dishes, pots, pans, cutlery and kitchen utensils. 3. Cleaning and sanitising kitchen surfaces, worktops, cupboards and appliances. 4. Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with food safety standards. 5. Keeping kitchen equipment and utensils properly stored and organised. 6. Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals when required. 7. Receiving and storing food deliveries appropriately. 8. Checking food supplies and informing the supervisor when stock is running low. 9. Ensuring refrigerators, freezers and storage areas are kept clean and organised. 10. Disposing of kitchen waste appropriately and maintaining proper waste separation. 11. Sweeping and mopping kitchen floors and keeping the kitchen free from clutter. 12. Assisting with general kitchen duties as required.
