The Role

TheMillerGroup operates several retail brands, including Agenda Bookshop, Butlers, 8TillLate Convenience, Animate, and the globally recognised WHSmith. The Retail Brand Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the brand strategy across these retail businesses.

This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing brand strategies that strengthen brand identity, enhance the customer experience, and support commercial performance across in-store, online, and omnichannel environments, ensuring a seamless customer experience across all consumer touchpoints

Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, the Retail Brand Manager ensures brand consistency while driving innovation and relevance in a competitive retail market.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute retail brand strategies across both physical and online channels in line with overall company objectives
Ensure consistent brand identity and customer experience across retail stores, websites, digital platforms, visual merchandising, POS materials, and marketing campaigns
Work closely with Commercial, Operations, E-commerce, and Marketing teams to align brand initiatives and support business growth across channels
Lead and manage retail and digital marketing campaigns, product launches, and promotional activities
Own and support the online brand presence, ensuring websites and digital storefronts reflect brand standards and deliver a strong customer experience
Oversee visual merchandising standards and guidelines across stores and support digital merchandising principles across online channels
Monitor brand performance, customer perception, market trends, and competitor activity across retail and e-commerce environments
Analyse sales data, customer insights, website performance, and digital metrics to optimise brand impact, conversion, and customer experience
Identify opportunities to grow customer engagement, traffic, and sales across both physical and online channels
Manage budgets related to retail branding, marketing, and digital brand activities
Coordinate with external agencies, suppliers, partners, and digital service providers

Key Requirements

Ideally have a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field
At least 5 years of experience in brand management, marketing or sales, ideally in the retail industry
Good financial acumen and strong analytical skills
Excellent written, verbal, presentation and negotiation skills and the ability to influence others
Ability to manage multiple retail stores and coordinate with various departments.
Experience with market research and data analysis and interpretation
A proven track record of developing and implementing successful brand strategies and the ability to adapt to market changes
