The Role

We are seeking a commercially driven Yacht Relations & Business Development Executive to develop relationships and generate new business across the Mediterranean superyacht sector.

This is a Malta based role with an international territory. It is not a Malta only or desk based position.

The successful candidate will regularly visit yachts, marinas, shipyards, yacht management companies and industry events in Malta and overseas. This will include planned dock walking and commercial visits across priority yacht hubs in the South of France, Monaco, Italy, Greece, Spain and other agreed markets.

The role requires someone who can build trust with yacht decision makers, identify genuine requirements, introduce the appropriate Melita Marine Group specialists and follow each opportunity through quotation, award or loss and operational handover.

Key Responsibilities

Build long term relationships with captains, chief engineers, ETOs, pursers, yacht managers, brokers, owner representatives, marinas and other relevant industry contacts.
Prepare and execute approved territory and visit plans covering Malta and selected Mediterranean and European yacht hubs.
Undertake professional dock-walking, yacht visits, client meetings and networking while observing all marina, vessel, security and access protocols.
Identify and qualify opportunities across refit, dry-docking, in-water works, engineering, propulsion, electrical and automation services, chandlery, technical upgrades and emergency yacht support.
Establish the client’s requirement, decision-maker, timing, location, commercial potential and agreed next action.
Prepare accurate lead briefs and coordinate introductions, technical discussions, inspections and quotations with the relevant internal teams.
Maintain disciplined client and internal follow-up, ensuring that agreed actions and response dates are progressed.
Record substantive client activity and opportunities in CRM within one working day and maintain an accurate pipeline and forecast.
Track opportunities through quotation, negotiation, award, loss and operational handover.
Represent Melita Marine Group at approved yacht shows, marina events and other targeted industry activities.
Provide management with practical market intelligence regarding yacht movements, client requirements, competitor activity and emerging opportunities.

Performance will be assessed on the quality of decision maker relationships, qualified pipeline, conversion to awarded work, CRM discipline and professional follow-through, not simply the number of contacts made.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate should have:

At least three years’ experience in field-based B2B business development, account management, relationship sales or client acquisition.
Experience within the superyacht, marine, technical services, luxury hospitality or another relationship-led sector.
The confidence and judgement to approach senior yacht decision-makers professionally and build credible relationships.
Strong commercial awareness, organisation, CRM and pipeline management discipline.
Professional spoken and written English.
High standards of discretion, integrity and personal presentation.
A valid driving licence and passport, together with the ability to work lawfully in EU by the commencement date.
The flexibility to travel frequently, including multi-day overseas trips and occasional early mornings, evenings or weekends associated with yacht schedules and industry events.

Direct superyacht experience and an existing network among captains, chief engineers, yacht managers, brokers or owner representatives would be a strong advantage.

Knowledge of Italian, French, Greek or Spanish would also be beneficial.
