The Role

The Senior Manager is responsible for the management and delivery of defined teams or enforcement work streams within the Enforcement Section. The role focuses on execution, quality of outputs, and people management within an agreed remit.

Duties and Responsibilities

Managing and leading assigned teams or enforcement work streams within the Enforcement Section.
Ensuring timely delivery of enforcement work in line with agreed priorities, standards, and procedures.
Maintaining the quality, consistency, and accuracy of outputs within their area of responsibility.
Carrying out people management responsibilities, including performance appraisals, one to one meetings, and staff development.
Applying agreed frameworks, policies, and procedures consistently.
Monitoring operational risks within their remit and escalating matters outside their authority.
Keeping the Deputy Head and Head of Enforcement informed of progress, issues, and risks.
Supporting coordination across teams and contributing to Section-wide objectives when required.
Participating in committees, working groups, or external engagement when delegated.
Fulfilling any other duties delegated by the Director, Deputy Director, Head of Enforcement, or Deputy Head of Enforcement.

Requirements

An MQF Level 6 qualification in Law, Accounting, Audit, Banking and Finance, Financial Services, Insurance, Economics, or a related subject.
A minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience, including 3 years in a managerial role.
Good knowledge of Maltese AML/CFT legislation, relevant EU Directives, and international standards.
Experience in enforcement, supervision, compliance, or regulatory functions.
Strong people management and organisational skills.
Ability to manage workloads, meet deadlines, and maintain quality standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Maltese and English.
