Job Description
THE ROLE
QP Consult is QP's specialist consultancy arm, delivering Cultural Heritage & Archaeology, Geomatics, and Health & Safety services to project promoters, consultants and contractors across Malta and QP's wider markets. The Senior Partner leads QP Consult as one coordinated business: setting its direction, winning and sustaining the work that keeps it thriving, and giving its three service lines the leadership, coordination and support they need to operate as a single team rather than three.
This is a senior leadership appointment, not a technical role. You do not need to be an archaeologist, surveyor or safety specialist yourself, though a background in one of these fields is a genuine advantage. What matters is your ability to lead people, open doors, win business, and keep a multidisciplinary team planned, resourced and moving in the same direction; QP Consult's discipline leads and an experienced operations lead take care of day-to-day technical and administrative execution.
The role sits within QP's Senior Partnership and reports jointly to the Chairman & CEO and the Chief Operating Officer, with full visibility into, and input on, QP's wider strategic direction.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Leadership & Direction
- Lead QP Consult as one coordinated business, setting clear priorities and standards across all three service lines rather than treating them as separate units.
- Sit as a full member of QP's Senior Partnership, contributing to company-wide strategy and decision-making beyond QP Consult alone.
- Report to the Chairman & CEO and COO on performance, pipeline, people and risk, and make timely calls when workload, resourcing or client issues need resolving.
Business Development & Commercial Growth
- Take direct ownership of winning and sustaining the work that keeps QP Consult's team busy and its business plan on track, through public tenders, direct client relationships, and opportunities generated within QP's wider projects.
- Shape QP Consult's positioning, pricing and bid strategy, and build the pipeline that supports a multi-million-euro annual work programme.
- Build and grow relationships with public authorities, project promoters, developers, consultants and contractors that bring QP Consult repeat and referred business.
Team & Delivery Oversight
- Hold an overview of workload, capacity and forward planning across all three service lines, working with the discipline leads to keep resourcing matched to demand.
- Coordinate QP Consult's contribution to QP's wider multidisciplinary projects, so specialist input lands at the right time and in the right shape.
- Support, guide and develop the discipline leads and their teams, stepping in on resourcing conflicts or delivery risks before they become problems.
Government, Regulatory & Industry Relationships
- Build and maintain QP Consult's standing with the Maltese authorities relevant to its work, including the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage and the Occupational Health and Safety Authority, both to sustain public-sector business and to keep QP Consult's regulatory eligibility current.
- Represent QP Consult at government, industry and professional level, and act as its face in the relationships that matter to its future.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Essential
- Senior leadership experience in a consultancy, construction, infrastructure or comparable professional-services environment, ideally in Malta.
- A strong track record of winning business, including public tenders and direct client relationships.
- Experience leading and coordinating multidisciplinary teams, with the judgement to make timely calls and the people skills to get the best out of specialists in fields you may not personally have trained in.
- Established credibility with Maltese government and regulatory bodies, or a demonstrated ability to build that credibility quickly.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation and communication skills, and the presence to represent QP Consult at senior level.
Desirable
- A professional or technical background in Cultural Heritage & Archaeology, Geomatics, or Health & Safety is an advantage, though not a requirement.
- Familiarity with Malta's public procurement, construction and heritage/OHS regulatory landscape.
- Experience growing a consultancy service line or business unit.
WHY QP CONSULT
QP Consult is a well-established, respected part of QP, with a strong reputation across Malta's heritage, survey and health & safety sectors, and the backing of a wider multidisciplinary group behind it. This is a genuine opportunity to lead a business with room to grow, shape its future direction, and do so with an experienced team already in place to support you.
What We Offer
The successful candidate will receive:
- An attractive senior-level salary package
- Full membership of QP’s Senior Partnership, with direct exposure to the Chairman & CEO, COO and wider leadership team
- A genuine opportunity to lead and grow an established multidisciplinary consultancy business
- Significant autonomy to shape strategy, business development, client relationships and the future direction of QP Consult
- The opportunity to influence company-wide strategy and decision-making, beyond the QP Consult business unit
- An established team and operational structure, allowing the Senior Partner to focus on leadership, growth and strategic priorities
