The Business provides personalised support in areas such as corporate administration, taxation, investment guidance, regulatory matters, family governance and wealth management.

Role Overview

Heroix is collaborating with our Client within the professional services sector to recruit a Director – Business Development & Relationship Management. Reporting to the Managing Director, this senior appointment will shape the Company's commercial direction, strengthen relationships with clients and referral partners, and introduce additional services to support its long-term expansion plans. The successful candidate will also oversee relationship management, professional networks, product development, marketing and public relations.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy: Formulate and implement a clear business growth plan aligned with the Company's revenue objectives over the coming three years.
Client Portfolio Development: Develop new client relationships while strengthening relationships with existing clients, maintaining high levels of client satisfaction and identifying opportunities to provide additional services. The client portfolio will include Malta, the UK, the EU and Switzerland. Travel may be required to meet clients and attend relevant conferences and events.
Introducer Network: Establish and expand productive connections with business introducers, advisers and other professional referral partners.
Service Expansion: Work with departmental leaders to assess, develop and bring new solutions to market, potentially covering areas such as immigration, taxation, governance, funds and asset management.
Marketing Direction: Define the Company's marketing and public relations priorities, ensuring that its positioning reflects its growing range of services.
External Representation: Act as a senior ambassador for the Business at conferences, professional gatherings and networking functions.
Strategic Initiatives: Contribute commercial insight to potential acquisitions, cross-border growth opportunities and other major business projects.
Team Leadership: Recruit, guide and develop the professionals responsible for business development and relationship management.
Performance Monitoring: Track prospective business, conversion levels and income generation, presenting clear updates to the Managing Director and the Board.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Education: A degree-level qualification is required, while an additional professional certification in a relevant discipline would be considered beneficial.
Experience: At least 8 years of senior-level experience in business development, client relationship management or a related commercial function within trust services, corporate administration, financial services or another professional services environment.
Growth Record: Proven success in increasing revenue, developing commercial opportunities and translating strategic plans into measurable results.
Leadership: Previous experience building, managing and supporting a high-performing commercial or relationship-focused team.
Professional Network: A well-developed network of introducers, advisers and professional contacts within the relevant market.
Product Development: Practical experience introducing, expanding or commercialising new products or professional service offerings.
Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role.
Communication Skills: The ability to communicate persuasively, present ideas with confidence and adapt messages to senior stakeholders, clients and professional partners.
Interpersonal Skills: A relationship-led approach, supported by credibility, discretion and the ability to build lasting trust with a broad range of contacts.
Commercial Judgement: Strong business awareness and the ability to evaluate opportunities, balance priorities and make well-informed commercial decisions.
Organisation: The capacity to manage several strategic workstreams while maintaining focus on deadlines, performance indicators and revenue objectives.
Self-Motivated: A proactive and ambitious approach, with the drive to identify opportunities and take ownership of the Company's growth agenda.
Problem-Solving: The ability to assess complex commercial challenges and develop practical solutions that support sustainable business development.
