Backend Developer (Go)

Hybrid (Floriana, Malta) / Remote within Europe

€50,000-€55,000 gross per annum depending on experience

The role:

Arritech is looking for a Mid-Level Backend Developer to join our Engineering team and work on QgenOnline, our KYC/KYB/AML compliance platform. Your initial focus will be migrating functionality from our existing C# product, QCheck, into our Go-based QgenOnline platform, before moving into the continued development of the product.

You’ll be responsible for:

Migrating and reverse-engineering existing QCheck functionality
Building and maintaining Go backend services and REST APIs
Planning data migration and supporting the cutover and decommissioning of QCheck
Integrating third-party verification, screening and payment providers
Writing automated tests and participating in code reviews
Working with Product and QA to deliver and troubleshoot features

What we’re looking for

3–5 years’ professional backend development experience
Strong hands-on experience with Go
Experience with REST APIs, databases and migrations
Experience with Git, CI/CD, Docker and cloud environments
Automated testing experience
Ability to read and understand C#/.NET code (advanced C# experience is not required)
A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience
Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools and working with ambiguity

Desirable: Experience with message queues, observability tooling, identity/screening/payments APIs, or a regtech/fintech background.
