ABOUT DLI CONTRACTORS

DLI Contractors Ltd is one of Malta's established MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) contracting companies, delivering technically demanding engineering solutions across commercial, hospitality, residential, and industrial projects throughout the island. With a team of over 130 skilled professionals — spanning site trades, engineering, and support functions — we are built on a foundation of technical excellence, rigorous safety standards, and a consistent track record of project delivery. As we continue to scale our operations and take on an increasingly diverse project portfolio, we are looking for a seasoned Project Manager who can take genuine ownership of project delivery and help drive DLI's next phase of growth.

ROLE OVERVIEW

This is a senior, hands-on delivery role for an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record in MEP contracting and a strong working knowledge of the Maltese construction market. You will take end-to-end ownership of multiple live projects — from pre-construction planning and programme development through to on-site coordination, quality assurance, and final handover. You will be the central point of accountability for your projects, managing clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams with equal confidence. This is a role that demands both strategic thinking and on-the-ground presence — and it offers a genuine platform for career growth within a company that is investing in its people and its project pipeline.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

▸ Lead and manage MEP projects from pre-construction through to handover and closeout, taking full accountability for programme, cost, and quality outcomes

▸ Develop and maintain detailed project programmes, budgets, and resource plans, proactively identifying risks and taking corrective action before issues escalate

▸ Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, managing expectations and maintaining strong professional relationships

▸ Conduct regular site visits across all active projects to monitor progress, workmanship quality, and health & safety compliance

▸ Identify, assess, and manage project risks, variations, and change orders, ensuring all commercial implications are captured and communicated in a timely manner

▸ Prepare and present accurate progress reports, cost reports, and project documentation for internal and client review

▸ Ensure all works are designed, procured, and executed in full compliance with Maltese regulations, project specifications, and DLI's quality and safety standards

▸ Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and the procurement team to manage material deliveries, lead times, and on-site resource availability

▸ Mentor and support site supervisors and junior project staff, fostering a culture of accountability, technical competence, and continuous improvement

▸ Participate in tender preparation, pre-construction planning, and client presentations as required

REQUIREMENTS

Essential

▸ Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent experience gained through a demonstrable track record in MEP project delivery

▸ Minimum 5–8 years' experience in project management within the MEP or construction sector — substantial experience in the Maltese market is strongly preferred

▸ Currently Malta-based — candidates must be available for immediate and regular site presence across Malta

▸ Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-disciplinary construction projects on time and within budget, with clear examples of stakeholder and programme management

▸ Strong working knowledge of MEP systems and construction methodologies across at least two of the following: mechanical, electrical, or plumbing disciplines

▸ Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent

▸ Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to manage clients and subcontractors at all levels

▸ Valid driving licence and full willingness to travel to project sites across Malta

▸ Proficiency in Maltese, given the local client and contractor environment

Familiarity with FIDIC or JCT contract forms and standard Maltese construction contract practice

WHAT WE OFFER

▸ A competitive salary package commensurate with your experience, track record, and seniority

▸ A genuine platform for career progression within a growing MEP contractor — with direct exposure to senior leadership and an expanding project portfolio

▸ A collaborative, professionally driven environment where your decisions and leadership directly shape project outcomes
