Job Description

Our Client, Malta’s leading business and commercial services group, is expanding its Human Resources team and is seeking a motivated and organised HR Officer to join its growing team. Reporting to the HR Manager, the successful candidate will support the full employee lifecycle while contributing to the development of effective HR practices, employee engagement initiatives, and a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a first point of contact for employees and managers on HR-related matters, ensuring queries are handled professionally and efficiently.
Coordinate the full recruitment and employee lifecycle, including job advertising, candidate screening, reference checks, employment contracts, onboarding, probation reviews, and terminations.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, HR documentation, and personnel files, while ensuring required information is submitted to relevant authorities.
Support the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, performance management processes, training programmes, and employee engagement initiatives.
Liaise with payroll and other internal departments to ensure employee changes and HR information are processed accurately and within required deadlines.
Assist the HR Manager with employee relations matters, workforce reporting, HR analytics, conflict resolution, and the planning of wellness, team-building, and other HR initiatives.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar HR or Human Resources role.
Good knowledge of Maltese employment legislation and experience liaising with Maltese authorities and entities.
Excellent written and spoken English, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently while managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
Strong computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office, with a professional, proactive, and solutions-focused approach.

Licenses & Qualifications

Minimum A' Level standard of education.
A qualification in Human Resources, Business Management, Psychology, or a related discipline will be considered an asset.
Knowledge or training in Maltese employment law and HR practices is highly desirable.
Relevant HR certifications or professional development qualifications will be considered an advantage.
