Position Overview:

The Packer is responsible for accurately preparing, packaging, and labelling cheese, ham, and various food products in accordance with company standards, hygiene regulations, and customer specifications. This role ensures that all products are handled safely, efficiently, and consistently to maintain high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect cheese, ham, and other food items for quality, freshness, and proper portion size.
Slice, weigh, and prepare products according to order requirements or production guidelines.
Pack products using approved packaging materials, including vacuum sealing, wrapping, and container filling.
Ensure packaging is secure, correctly portioned, and aesthetically presented.
Apply accurate labels including product name, weight, ingredients, allergen information, and expiry dates.
Maintain production records, batch numbers, and packaging logs.
Follow strict food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures (HACCP or company protocol).
Keep workstation clean, sanitised, and organised at all times.
Identify and report any product defects or equipment malfunctions.
Operate slicing machines, scales, sealing devices, and other packing equipment safely.
Assist with stock rotation (FIFO), storage, and inventory control.
Cooperate with the production team to meet daily output targets.

Skills and Qualifications:

Experience in food handling, food production, or packing (preferred but not always required).
Possess a Food Handling Card.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, refrigerated environment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic communication and teamwork skills.
