Kitchen Helper

Kitchen Helper (also known as a kitchen assistant or porter) supports chefs and cooks by maintaining a clean, sanitized, and well-organized commercial kitchen and assisting with basic food preparation

-Wash, disinfect, and polish dishware, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils. Operate industrial dishwashing machinery. -Clean and sanitize benchtops, prep areas, cooking ranges, and floors (sweeping and mopping). Empty bins, manage waste disposal, and handle recycling. - Wash, peel, chop, and portion fruits, vegetables, and salad ingredients under chef supervision. Assemble simple items, toasts, or plating components as needed. -Unload food deliveries, check and weigh supplies, and rotate stock (FIFO - First In, First Out) in dry storage, refrigerators, and freezers. Restock stations with supplies. - Follow food hygiene, infection control, and workplace health and safety (WHS) guidelines.
