We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Admin to manage day-to- to day IT operations for our Malta office and to play a key role in automating how we deliver IT services. This is a hands-on role combining IT administration and service desk work with a strong focus on AI and automation, using automation platforms, scripting, and AI assistants to reduce repetitive manual tasks. You will administer and develop our Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management), build workflow improvements, automations, and integrations, and provide secure, reliable, high-quality IT support across Windows and Mac environments.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Administer and continuously improve the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management), including workflows, permissions, schemes, and automation rules.
Design, build, and maintain automations that remove mundane, repetitive IT tasks - using automation platforms, scripting, APIs, and native Atlassian automation.
Act as the primary escalation point and internal expert for Atlassian-related issues and enhancements.
Manage and support Windows and Mac devices through Intune and Jamf, ensuring performance, security and reliability.
Oversee asset management and full device lifecycle (procurement to decommissioning).
Administer identity and access management through Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID, including provisioning, SSO, MFA, conditional access, and group policy.
Manage system access, patching, and endpoint security in line with policies and compliance standards.
Deliver efficient, high-quality IT service desk support with timely resolution of incidents and requests.
Monitor service desk performance against SLA and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Promote IT, automation, and Atlassian best practices across the organisation.
Identify, evaluate, and roll out AI tools (AI assistants, agents, AI-assisted ticket triage and knowledge search) to improve IT service delivery and end-user productivity.
Continuously hunt for manual, repetitive work across IT and the wider business, and automate it away to reduce effort and improve service delivery.
Build and maintain integrations between IT and business systems so data flows automatically between platforms.
Measure the impact of automation and AI initiatives (time saved, ticket deflection, resolution times) and iterate.
Maintain clear, up-to-date documentation for systems, workflows, and configurations.

Qualifications:

Practical experience using AI tools in a work context (e.g. LLM assistants, AI-assisted support or triage), with a curiosity for where AI can replace manual effort.
Hands-on experience with Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID - user and group management, SSO, MFA, conditional access, and licensing.
Solid experience across the corporate IT toolset: Microsoft 365, Intune for Windows endpoint management, Jamf for Mac management, identity and access management, and SaaS application administration.
Working knowledge of Atlassian products, including Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management, with a solid understanding of best practices and configurations.
Self-motivated team player with a positive, service-oriented mindset and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong understanding of IT systems and service desk operations, with proven experience supporting end users in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, meeting deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail and quality.
Quick learner with strong adaptability, able to thrive in a dynamic and evolving business environment.
3+ years of experience in IT operations, including exposure to administration and support of the Atlassian suite.
Proven troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networking, with a structured and analytical approach to problem-solving.
Experience managing third-party vendors and service providers is highly desirable.

Nice to Have:

Experience building agentic or LLM-based workflows (e.g. OpenAI/Anthropic APIs, AI agents) to automate support or operational tasks.
Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, or similar) for task automation.
