Provide in-home care and support, assisting with personal hygiene, bathroom needs, daily routines and comfort. Perform light housekeeping to maintain a clean, safe and healthy home environment.

Having a compassionate character and providing companionship too. Helping patients with the medication and accompanying them on medical appointments. Managing patients' lifestyle, helping them maintain an active and healthy standard of living.

Competencies

Activities: care for the elderly
Accompany patient/person in need of care on walks or displacements
Work with target group: elderly
Serve meals and light meals to patients according to specifications of caring plan
Advice person with caring need on daily life activities (meals, domestic tasks, hygiene, safety)
Maintain and clean communal parts
Clean and store clothes and other textiles (washing, sewing, ironing)
Inform client on damage to furniture and appliances and if possible make repairs
Do the dishes and stow them away. Tidy and clean the kitchen and sanitary facilities
Check health condition of patient. Observe mood swings/behaviour changes... Inform parties concerned (family, doctor...)
Assist and support patients (arrange position of bed/sofa...). Check safety measures, caring arrangements...
Assist people in their daily activities
Help patient during everyday activities. Observe changes in patient's condition
Do shopping, prepare meals, do administrative formalities... for a person with a caring need
