The technician will carry out preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities on mechanical and electrical systems within the feed mill.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing feed mill machinery and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production operations. Key Duties and Responsibilities

Mechanical Maintenance: Inspect, maintain, and repair of: Hammer mills, Pellet mills, Conveyors, Bucket elevators, Mixers and augers. Replace worn components such as Bearings, Belts, Chains, Seals. Perform lubrication and alignment activities.
Electrical Maintenance: Troubleshoot electrical faults on motors and control systems. Identify and replace faulty sensors and switches. Assist in maintaining electrical panels and wiring. Support troubleshooting of PLC-controlled equipment.
Troubleshooting and Repairs: Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns. Diagnose faults and identify root causes. Minimize downtime through effective repair work. Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation.
Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks. Complete inspection checklists and maintenance schedules. Monitor machine condition and report abnormalities. Recommend improvements to reduce failures.
Safety and Housekeeping: Follow all safety procedures and company policies. Apply Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures before maintenance work. Always use PPE correctly. Maintain clean and safe working areas.
Documentation and Reporting: Record maintenance activities in maintenance logs or CMMS. Report spare parts used and materials required. Communicate machine issues to supervisors and operators. Technical Education and Training
Higher Technical diploma or equivalent in any of the following areas; Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance or Mechatronics.
Proficient communication in English. Other Desirable Training
Electrical wireman’s licenses, Welding certification, PLC or automation training, Health & Safety / LOTO training. Work Experience
Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in an industrial environment.
