A clinical lead is a senior clinician or nurse who oversees the daily operations, quality of care, and clinical governance of a healthcare team or facility.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Oversight: Monitor patient care standards, review clinical records, and ensure compliance with health regulations.Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and support multidisciplinary staff, including nurses and trainees.Operational Management: Coordinate daily activities, manage staff rotas, and help resolve team conflicts.Quality Improvement: Conduct audits, lead root cause analyses after incidents, and implement service improvements. Active license with a governing body (e.g., NMC for nurses or GMC for doctors).Experience: Several years of clinical practice plus proven leadership or supervisory background.Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to liaise with patients, families, and management.Problem-Solving: Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make quick, sound clinical decisions.
