ENTER THE GAME We are looking for a Senior Trader (Growth Sports), to be part of our growing sportsbook department in Malta, who will be manage the Sportsbook offer (pre-event and In-play) for which they will be assigned, across all Betclic brands, and regulated markets - to ensure maximum profitability for the business, and excellent customer experience. The job holder must provide 1st line of Sport Quality control to ensure the betting offer (provider driven and manual) remains at the required standard. Within this duty there is an expectation to lead communication with external providers and/or (any) other third-party that requires reporting and feedback concerning the sportsbook offer. The role requires a high degree of autonomy and ownership over assigned sports and competitions, as well as an active contribution to the continuous improvement of trading standards, performance, and operational efficiency across the team. YOUR ROLE:

To follow short and long-term strategy directives and provide feedback relevant to applicable sports. Ensure customers receive excellent quality of service by providing competitive coverage and pricing across the sports offer.
Ensuring all Sportsbook (Trading) content, features, and promotions (for which you are assigned) are correctly displayed on the website.
Ensure the brand(s) complies with the legal, regulatory and revenue requirements as determined by the various authorities.
Regular communication with Head of Sport(s), Head of Trading, and all other SPO vertical Heads (Strategy / Product / Risk) to adopt department strategy and drive progression.
Maintain dialogue with non-trading departments (marketing, compliance, CS, UX, Dev, etc..) to align projects, developments, strategy, and procedures.
Carry out appropriate (requested and pro-active) research and analysis across you sport(s) with timely commentary and reporting on trends, changes, statistical analysis of sports/events/markets to identify deficiencies/failings in our offer.
Active comment on trading tools and processes, product testing on stage & production environments, raising BO and FO issues, and making suggestion for improvements.
Analysis of customer activity with a view to protecting sustainable profit margin(s) across trading activity – you are expected to maintain regular and accurate communication with the Profiling Team and follow department policy with regards to communicating risk.
Integration and management of 3rd party providers in-line with business needs and department strategy.
Continuous review of current configurations & risk management settings, proactively proposing improvements and solutions to Head of Sport(s).
Enhance an automated offer with manual and non-provider driven offer, both pre-event and In-play.
Ensure resulting duties are covered in a timely manner and response to Customer Service / VIP teams remains at high level.
Follow all department and company procedures & guidelines regarding trading procedures, risk management, rota compilations, holidays booking, sickness, absence. If there is a lack of appropriate or relevant procedures/guidelines this should be raised with your line manager.
Have awareness of the T&C’s across sports, understand compliance restrictions across traded sports, and escalate any issues arising.
Act as a senior reference point for assigned sports and competitions, ensuring consistency of pricing, execution standards, and risk approach.
Provide day-to-day guidance, support, and informal mentoring to junior traders, contributing to overall team capability, knowledge sharing, and performance.
Actively contribute to trading strategy discussions, performance reviews, and initiatives aimed at improving margin, control, and customer experience, working closely with trading management. You have sports trading experience, with a minimum of 4 years in a trading role.
You have good knowledge of rugby (events/players) and rugby betting markets, particularly the French leagues.
You have an understanding of fixed odds, betting exchanges, and betting principles.
You have experience with odds compilation of specials and novelty markets in addition to a standard betting offer.
You can work unsociable hours (weekends/evenings/holidays) based on the business needs and sporting calendar.
You have experience using 3rd party trading providers (e.g. BetRadar/BetGenius).
You have strong mathematical skills and solid analytical/statistical abilities.
You are organised and competent at multitasking.
You are able to challenge ideas and approaches constructively.
You have sound knowledge of MS Office programs, particularly Excel.
You have a high attention to detail and the ability to think methodically and logically under pressure.
You can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
You have an ambitious and versatile attitude with a strong passion for the sports betting industry.
You are target-driven with a positive, can-do attitude.
You are fluent in French, it will be considered an asset
You have good English language skills and excellent communication skills.
You have the ability to operate with a senior level of accountability, ownership, and decision-making within agreed trading frameworks. WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM THIS RECRUITMENT?
