DLI Contractors Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to take a leading technical role within our Electrical Engineering department, with a clear mandate to build and develop our in-house engineering capability over time.

This is a hands-on, end-to-end position spanning the full project lifecycle — from early-stage design and tender preparation through to on-site supervision and final commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

Supervise and review the technical output of engineers and draughtspersons, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance across all electrical designs and site works
Progressively build and structure an in-house electrical engineering team, contributing to recruitment, onboarding, and technical mentoring
Act as the senior technical reference point for the electrical engineering function, setting standards, templates, and best practice across design and site delivery
Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers, supporting their technical growth and progression within DLI

Tendering & Commercial

Lead the review of tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to assess project scope, identify risks, and prepare competitive bids
Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs), material take-offs, and cost estimates in line with Malta market rates and supplier pricing

Design & Engineering

Develop and coordinate electrical system designs covering LV power distribution, lighting and emergency lighting, containment, earthing and bonding, fire detection interfaces, and ELV systems
Ensure full compliance with REWS regulations, Malta Electricity Supply Regulations, and BS 7671 (IEE Wiring Regulations)
Prepare and review technical drawings using AutoCAD, coordinating with BIM/Revit workflows where applicable
Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, civil, and architectural disciplines to ensure buildability and avoid design clashes

Site Supervision & Delivery

Supervise and direct on-site electrical installation works across multiple concurrent projects
Oversee commissioning and handover processes including Enemalta connections, REWS inspections, and client acceptance tests
Prepare and maintain project documentation including method statements, risk assessments, ITPs, RFIs, and as-built drawings
Ensure all works are delivered in full compliance with HSE legislation and DLI's site safety standards

What We're Looking For

B.Eng. / B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, MQF Level 6 minimum (MQF Level 7 an advantage)
Warranted Engineer status with the Malta Engineering Board
A couple of years' post-qualification experience in an MEP contracting environment
Proven track record supervising and mentoring engineering teams
Solid working knowledge of REWS regulations, and Malta Electricity Supply Regulations
Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit MEP experience an advantage
Valid Maltese driving licence
