Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on and reliable RBS Field Technician to support the maintenance, installation, and performance of our radio and transmission network infrastructure.

In this role, you will work as part of a field operations team responsible for ensuring the uptime, quality, and reliability of Epic’s network, including radio base stations, transmission systems, and fibre optic networks.

This is a dynamic, field-based role requiring strong technical troubleshooting skills, a commitment to safety, and a willingness to work at height and outside standard hours when required.

Key Responsibilities

RBS Site Maintenance
- Carry out routine inspection, maintenance, and servicing of Radio Base Station (RBS) sites
- Diagnose and resolve faults on RBS equipment to ensure optimal network performance
Transmission Systems
- Diagnose and rectify faults on transmission equipment
- Support continuity and reliability of transmission links across the network
Fibre Optic Networks
- Configure and commission fibre optic networks across RBS sites and corporate installations
- Troubleshoot and resolve fibre-related faults and performance issues
Installation Activities
- Install and commission RBS infrastructure, including antenna systems, microwave links, equipment cabinets, cable trays, cabling, and related hardware
- Ensure all installations meet technical and safety standards
Working at Height
- Perform work on telecom towers and elevated structures safely
- Complete all required certifications and training for working at heights
- Comply with periodic medical assessments to ensure fitness for duty
Call-Out and Support
- Participate in a 24/7 call-out roster to support network faults outside office hours
- Respond promptly to outages to restore service in line with SLAs

Key Requirements

Strong technical knowledge of telecom networks, especially RBS, transmission, and fibre systems
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical faults in the field
Practical experience with the installation and maintenance of telecom infrastructure
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Close attention to detail with a strong focus on safety and quality
Willingness to work at heights and in outdoor environments
Flexible approach to working hours, including participation in on-call rotations
Valid driving licence (required for fieldwork)
