SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Vice President, Early Commitments & Biosimilar Strategy will be responsible for leading Adalvo’s differentiated, high-differentiation and high-reward portfolio strategy and strategic partnering agenda. Reporting to the Chief Corporate Officer, the role will drive portfolio identification, external partnering, early commitment generation and commercial value creation across complex generics, value-added medicines, peptides, biosimilars and other strategic high-barrier assets. For biosimilars, the role will cover both the CDMO partnership side and the selling/out-licensing side of the business, ensuring that Adalvo builds a strategically selected, partner-backed and commercially attractive biosimilar portfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities of this role include the following:

Own and lead Adalvo’s differentiated, high-differentiation and high-reward portfolio agenda, with focus on complex, high-barrier and strategically valuable assets
Drive biosimilar portfolio strategy across both CDMO and selling-side business models, including partner identification, development model definition, commercial positioning and external customer engagement
Secure a cutting-edge Adalvo pipeline and portfolio through strategic deals, structured scouting, partner-backed development and disciplined business case assessment
Identify and secure early commitment partners for Adalvo’s most valuable future pipeline, with emphasis on high-reward and differentiated opportunities
Develop and implement portfolio and partnering strategy in alignment with Adalvo’s corporate growth agenda, technology platform ambition and long-term value creation priorities
Lead partner selection, negotiation and contract management across CDMO, co-development, in-licensing, out-licensing and strategic commercial arrangements
Analyze resource, risk and return aspects carefully in line with business cases and ensure that Adalvo’s capital, technical and commercial resources are deployed toward the highest-value opportunities
Participate in and, where relevant, lead inter-functional project teams, ensuring smooth handover, iteration and follow-through with R&D, regulatory, IP, supply, finance and commercial teams
Represent Adalvo in strategic partnering meetings, customer discussions, CDMO engagements and portfolio-related external forums
Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and corporate governance requirements across all partnering and portfolio activities
Continuously build expertise on Adalvo’s portfolio, technology platforms, customer needs, CDMO landscape and biosimilar market dynamics

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Senior business development and portfolio leadership experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in complex generics, value-added medicines, peptides, biosimilars or other high-barrier assets
Entrepreneurial character with the maturity to operate at Vice President level and navigate a vivid, complex and high-value deal-making landscape
Strong technical, medical, regulatory and commercial understanding of differentiated pharmaceutical assets and their development, partnering and commercialization pathways
Proven ability to work across generic, added-value, peptide and biosimilar products, including high-differentiation and high-reward portfolio opportunities
Experience with biosimilar partnering is strongly preferred, including CDMO partnership models, development collaboration structures, out-licensing, customer engagement and commercial deal formation
Ability to operate independently and under pressure in a fast-moving and quickly changing business environment
Minimum 10+ years of relevant pharmaceutical business development, licensing, portfolio or strategic partnering experience, with a demonstrated record of closing and managing high-value transactions
Existing strong network and a proven track record of tangible achievements; a deal sheet is required among application documents
High-level communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with excellent command of English
Flexibility to travel internationally for customer, CDMO, partner and strategic portfolio meetings
Ability to lead, influence and manage teams across functions and geographies, including direct and matrixed stakeholders
Strong understanding of B2B pharma, virtual development models, CDMO ecosystems and global out-licensing dynamics
Good understanding of various regional market dynamics, especially EU, U.S., MENA, LATAM and APAC where relevant to Adalvo’s portfolio strategy
