The Commercial Financial Analyst (P2P) will be responsible for all the financial metrics

The Commercial Financial Analyst, Procure-to-Pay (P2P) will be responsible for all the financial metrics, insights & decision support for the Company’s high value Raw Material procurement processes and its associated usage to Production. The role is expected to provide financial insight and analysis regarding best practice procurement and optimising production usage of such material. This role will focus on the structuring of all data within the process scope as well as investigating, formulating & implementing cost improvement initiatives.

Key Accountabilities

Materials requirement control and Variance Analysis

Own the standard costing process leading to Landed cost of Raw and Packing Materials

Keep up with market dynamics effecting components withing Raw and Pack landed cost including, Supply of Raw Material, Freight and handling cost, Insurance. Proactively bring info regarding market specific issues, keeping always a close eye on what is happening outside the company: supplier’s market news and evolution.

Be on top of the Company’s procurement and logistical process to ensure process and cost optimisation

Coordinate / Drive the implementation and automation of existing & new company procedures related to sourcing of raw materials and associated usage processes. Oversee the data structure as relevant

Purchase Price Variance Analysis

Monitor and analyse variances in procurement expenditure. Continuously evaluate purchase price variance & control. Perform in depth analysis of landed cost variance to identify root causes. Collaborate with procurement and logistics to close gaps and to improve standards.

Material Usage Variance Analysis

Conduct quantitative analysis of forecast and budgeted against actual costings.

Analyse actual and planned behaviour by reviewing the amount of a variance on trend lines and produces in order to maintain cost control.

Monitor and take action to ensure business performance is in line with forecasts. Recommend and deliver actions to manage top-line and bottom-line performance. Partner with operations to develop solutions to minimise waste and implement accordingly.

Review and report on monthly performance and identify areas of risk to achievement of targets and forecasts and develop/follow up action plans.

Inventory Accounting – Raw and Pack

Monitor and report on the Perpetual Inventory Counts. Monitor and report on stock holding levels. Report on slow moving stock and follow up on related planned actions agreed with operations

Execute accounting for slow movers’ provision, stock adjustment journals, stock count review, stock turnover reports

Be the lead driver in identifying efficiency areas, investigating options such as consignment stock, payment terms optimization, stock scrapping burden sharing with suppliers (ideally to be factored in the contract / POs).

Review and approval of Accounts Payable and Expenses

Support the CFO to develop and maintain adequate policies and procedures are in place related to procurement, accounts payable, payment authorisation limits, payment management and expense management

Act as Finance partner to Procurement and Manufacturing functions, providing support in financial analysis, forecasts, simulations, production plan execution, & cost analysis

Compare purchase plans to actuals. Review all transactions and entries passed in final accounts in a year in order to extract insight and recommendations.

Ensure process efficiency for the payables accounting process through systems and automations. Identify areas for improvement as relevant.

Oversee the Procurement to Pay Associate in processing accounts payable, expense reimbursements, company credit card management and ensure compliance to policies and procedures and proper data management

Prepare and support objectives in the budgeting, dynamic forecasts, and long-term financial planning

Coordinate / Drive the implementation and automation of existing & new company procedures related to Operations Finance

Support the Finance and Compliance Manager to comply with external reporting and compliance.

Work closely with the F&C Manager and analyst to identify risks and finding solutions how to mitigate procurement related risk.

Support the Senior Financial Analyst during the budget and forecasting processes.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Education

MQF 6 level Degree in Accountancy / ACCA

Experience

Minimum of 4 years overall experience, of which 3 years in a Finance Analyst. With particular focus on FMCG.

Prior experience in Accounting / Finance function (e.g., Factory or Supply Chain Controller). Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry experience.
