About the Role

The DevOps Engineer will lead and support the design, automation, optimization, and maintenance of continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and software release management processes for the company's software, BankWORKS, across production and non-production environments hosted on AWS and Azure cloud platforms. This role focuses heavily on CI/CD automation and release engineering, working closely with development, QA, and operations teams to automate build, packaging, testing, and deployment workflows using platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and cloud-native release tools. The DevOps Engineer will establish robust release management practices, manage release branches and versioning, maintain artifact repositories, and ensure the stability, speed, compliance, and reliability of software delivery.

Responsibilities

Design, build, optimize, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD to support the release process of BankWORKS
Manage and maintain artifact repositories (e.g., Nexus, JFrog Artifactory, GitLab Container Registry, AWS ECR) for binaries, Docker images, and release packages
Integrate automated unit, integration, performance, and security testing (SAST/SCA) directly into build and deployment pipelines in collaboration with Development and QA teams
Troubleshoot build failures, deployment errors, and pipeline performance bottlenecks to ensure high pipeline availability and fast feedback loops
Support the management and maintenance of cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure used by release automation systems and target deployment environments
Use Docker and Kubernetes to support containerized application builds, packaging, and deployments
Track release metrics and pipeline KPIs (such as deployment frequency, lead time for changes, and change failure rate) to continuously improve delivery workflows
Create and maintain clear technical documentation for CI/CD pipeline architectures, deployment runbooks, and release processes
Collaborate with development, QA, infrastructure, and security teams to support reliable, secure, and frequent software delivery

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related recognized qualification
Extensive experience designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD
Hands-on experience in software release management, release orchestration, versioning strategies, and production release coordination
Proficiency in Shell scripting, Python, Groovy, or PowerShell for automation
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure as deployment targets for release automation
Strong experience with Git version control, release branching practices, and repository management
Experience with containerization using Docker and/or Kubernetes
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills for complex build and deployment issues
Good understanding of system administration (Linux and Windows), networking, and operational support concepts
Ability to create and maintain clear technical runbooks, release documentation, and process guides
Fluency in written and spoken English

Nice to Have

Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools integrated into CI/CD pipelines
Experience with automated code quality and security scanning tools (SonarQube, Trivy, Snyk) in CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge of GitOps tools and deployment patterns (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux)
Any relevant AWS, Azure, Jenkins, GitLab, Kubernetes, or Terraform certifications
