The Barman is responsible for preparing a variety of beverages while providing professional, friendly, and efficient service. They must maintain an organised, clean, and inviting bar area, creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. A focus on delivering excellent customer service, maintaining product quality, and managing the bar environment is essential to this role.

Duties

Prepare a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beer, wine, and soft drinks, ensuring high standards of presentation and consistency

Assist in the development of the drink menu, stay updated on new offerings, and communicate updates to guests effectively

Maintain stock levels of garnishes, liquor, ice, and glassware, ensuring the bar is fully stocked and ready for service

Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the beverage menu and provide recommendations to guests

Assist with opening and closing tasks, including setting up the bar, assembling equipment, and ensuring all tools are sanitised

Always maintain a professional appearance and behaviour

Ensure full compliance with all health and safety regulations

Foster a friendly and engaging atmosphere for guests while focusing on delivering top-tier service

Comply with all employer guidelines and legal requirements for health and safety, hygiene, fire safety, licensing and employment

Perform any other duties that may be required as instructed by direct superior

Work Schedule

40 hours a week split as required by restaurant hours

Being accessible during the evening and on weekends

Experience

Minimum experience of 1 year working as a barman will be considered an asset

Knowledge and Skills Required

Strong multitasking abilities and the capacity to perform under pressure, particularly during busy service periods

Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages, especially Greek, is an advantage

Knowledge of Greek cuisine and culture is beneficial but not essential

Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure

Must be a team player, self-motivated and organised

Excellent talent to interact with people in a positive and courteous manner
