Right Fit is supporting a client in recruiting a Compliance Support Officer to assist its Compliance Function with regulatory compliance, governance, monitoring and reporting.

This opportunity would suit someone with broader compliance or regulatory experience who enjoys reviewing controls, identifying risks and supporting effective governance. You’ll also contribute to AML/CFT activities in coordination with the MLRO, without independent MLRO decision-making responsibilities.

Your responsibilities

Support compliance with regulatory frameworks applicable to company service providers, trustees and fiduciary activities, alongside data protection and internal requirements.
Assist with the Compliance Monitoring Programme, including thematic reviews, file testing, walkthroughs and control assessments.
Review client onboarding and acceptance processes against internal policies, governance requirements and risk appetite.
Support periodic reviews and ongoing monitoring of clients, structures, trusts and fiduciary arrangements.
Help prepare compliance reports for the Board and management, tracking findings, remedial actions and escalations.
Maintain accurate compliance registers, logs and records.
Monitor regulatory developments and escalate relevant updates to the Head of Compliance.
Assist with reviewing and updating compliance policies, procedures and internal controls.
Provide compliance support to operational teams, escalating matters where appropriate.
Support reviews of AML/CFT documentation, including customer due diligence, risk assessments and source of wealth and funds information.
Assist with testing AML/CFT controls, documenting findings and tracking remedial actions.
Maintain AML/CFT records and support reporting, training and awareness activities in coordination with the MLRO.

What we’re looking for

At least two years’ experience in general compliance, regulatory or governance work, ideally within a corporate services provider, trustee, fiduciary or regulated professional services environment.
Working knowledge of compliance frameworks applicable to CSPs and trustee activities.
Exposure to AML/CFT matters and familiarity with relevant obligations and MFSA guidance.
Strong analytical skills and confidence reviewing risks, controls and documentation.
Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to maintain clear audit trails.
The ability to work with a degree of autonomy while recognising when to escalate matters.
Excellent written and spoken English.

This role requires broader regulatory or governance experience alongside AML/CFT exposure; experience focused exclusively on AML may not provide the full background required.

Professional qualifications in Compliance, Governance, AML/CFT or Risk Management would be considered an asset.
