The role

An established Malta-based construction company is looking for an experienced and highly organised Store and Site Manager to join its team for an upcoming residential development in Sicily. This is a combined role suited to someone who is comfortable working in a hands-on construction environment and taking responsibility for both the day-to-day coordination of site activities and the control of materials, deliveries and site stores. The successful candidate will become a key member of the Project team and will be expected to maintain a well-organised, safe and productive site while supporting the wider Management team with the successful delivery of the works.

Key responsibilities

Manage and maintain the site stores, materials and equipment.
Coordinate deliveries and ensure materials are available when required.
Maintain accurate records of materials received, issued and remaining on site.
Monitor stock levels and identify requirements early enough to avoid disruption to the works.
Coordinate labour, subcontractors and daily site activities.
Monitor progress against the agreed programme and report potential delays or constraints.
Ensure work areas are prepared and available for upcoming activities.
Carry out regular site inspections covering progress, quality, health and safety and housekeeping.
Support quality inspections and ensure completed works are ready for sign-off.
Monitor the protection of completed works and materials.
Maintain good site housekeeping, access routes and storage areas.
Coordinate with management, suppliers, subcontractors and other members of the Project team.
Maintain accurate daily records including labour, deliveries, progress and site issues.
Provide regular progress updates, photographs and reports to the Management team.
Identify problems early and take a proactive approach to resolving them.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who is practical, organised and comfortable taking ownership of the day-to-day running of a construction site.

The ideal candidate will have

Previous experience within construction site management, supervision, logistics or stores.
A good understanding of construction sequencing and site operations.
Experience controlling materials, deliveries and site storage.
Strong organisational and planning skills.
A good understanding of construction health and safety and quality requirements.
The ability to coordinate operatives and subcontractors effectively.
Good record-keeping and reporting skills.
Basic computer literacy, including email, Excel and electronic reporting.
The confidence to communicate effectively with management, subcontractors, suppliers and the wider Project team.
The ability to work independently and make sensible day-to-day decisions.
A proactive attitude with a strong focus on keeping the project organised and moving forward.

Experience within brickwork, plastering, gypsum / drylining, screeding, waterproofing and decoration works would be advantageous.

The ability to communicate effectively in English is essential, while Italian language skills would be a significant advantage.
