The Senior Inventory Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accurate accounting, financial control and reporting of the Group's spare parts operations while supporting the transformation towards a centralized procurement and inventory management model.

Working closely with Procurement, Materials, Engineering, Logistics and Finance teams, the Senior Inventory Accountant will support the implementation of the Group's "one purchasing arm" approach by providing financial expertise, strengthening inventory accounting processes, ensuring compliance with Group policies and contributing to effective inventory management, cost control and working capital optimisation.

Responsibilities

Oversee the financial accounting of the Group's spare parts procurement and inventory activities.
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to support the centralized purchasing model.
Establish and maintain financial controls over inventory, procurement and warehouse operations.
Oversee inventory valuation, reconciliations, provisioning and reporting across multiple entities.
Ensure accurate accounting treatment of spare parts purchases, repairs, exchanges, sales, disposals and intercompany transfers.
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash flow related to spare parts operations.
Support the consolidation of purchasing activities into a single procurement structure serving the Group.
Drive process improvements and system integration between procurement, inventory management and finance systems.
Monitor inventory performance, stock turnover, obsolescence risks and working capital requirements.
Coordinate month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting activities relating to inventory and procurement functions.
Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis of spare parts activities.
Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, banks and other stakeholders on matters relating to inventory and purchasing operations.
Provide technical guidance and support to accounting and finance personnel supporting the spare parts function.
Participate in strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and supporting the Group's growth objectives.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
ACCA, ACA, CIMA or an equivalent professional qualification

Experience

Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting, with significant exposure to inventory accounting, procurement accounting or supply chain finance.
Experience in a multi-entity or Group environment is considered an asset.
Strong knowledge of inventory valuation, reconciliations, provisioning and financial reporting.
Experience working with ERP systems and inventory management processes.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with reporting and business intelligence tools is considered an advantage.
