Job Description

The Social Media & Content Manager will own and develop Challenge Group’s social media presence and digital content across its brands and communication channels. As a key member of the growing in-house Group Marketing team, the role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the Group’s social media activity and help shape how an international business communicates with its audiences across digital platforms.

Working closely with the Group Head of Marketing, the successful candidate will translate business priorities, industry developments, technical expertise and company stories into relevant, engaging and purposeful content that builds brand awareness, demonstrates expertise, strengthens trust and supports the Group’s wider commercial and marketing objectives.

Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy & Management

Lead the day-to-day execution of Challenge Group’s social media strategy across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and relevant platforms.
Develop content calendars and translate marketing and commercial priorities into platform-specific content plans.
Continuously evaluate performance, audience behavior and platform developments to improve reach, relevance and engagement.

Content Development & Copywriting

Research business activities, industry developments, markets and audience needs to identify relevant content opportunities.
Work with internal subject matter experts to turn technical, operational and commercial topics into clear, engaging content.
Develop content ideas, formats and copy adapted to different audiences, platforms and communication objectives.

Content Production & Campaigns

Develop creative briefs and collaborate with the Graphic Designer & Visual Content Creator and external partners to deliver integrated content.
Support social media activity for campaigns, launches, events and wider business initiatives.
Coordinate content inputs and ensure quality, consistency and timely delivery.

Paid Social & Performance

Plan, manage and optimize paid social campaigns in line with agreed objectives, audiences and budgets.
Test audiences, messaging and creative formats, using performance data to drive optimization and inform future activity.

Brand, Governance & Innovation

Ensure content aligns with Challenge Group’s brand guidelines, tone of voice and editorial standards, with business and technical claims appropriately verified.
Stay current with social media trends, emerging formats, AI-enabled tools and audience behavior, identifying opportunities to improve content, workflows and performance.

Education

Degree, diploma or professional qualification in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Marketing, Media or a related discipline is desirable.
Equivalent relevant professional experience will also be considered.
Certifications in social media, digital marketing, paid media or content marketing are advantageous.

Experience

3–6 years of relevant experience in social media, content marketing, digital marketing, communications or a comparable role.
Proven experience managing social media channels, with strong knowledge of LinkedIn and Meta Business Suite.
Excellent English writing and editing skills, with the ability to turn complex topics into clear, engaging and credible content.
Strong understanding of organic and paid social media, content planning, audience engagement and performance optimisation.
Curious, proactive and commercially minded, with strong research skills and the ability to understand audiences, business priorities and communication objectives.
Highly organised and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities, take ownership and collaborate effectively in a fast-moving international environment.
Experience using AI tools for research, ideation, analysis or workflow efficiency is a strong advantage. Training and support will be provided where required.
