An opportunity has arisen for interested candidates to join Carmelo Caruana Company Limited as a Warehouse Operative.

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the warehouse operations within the Malta Freeport. Working part of a small and tight-knit team, you will be helping out to ensure organised and optimised use of the warehousing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring safe working practices at all times.
Participating in toolbox talks as and when required to help ensure that all relevant personnel are fully aware of the task and its associated hazards prior to the commencement of work.
Carrying out pre-use checks on plant and other equipment to ensure that they are in a safe condition prior to use.
Receiving goods and checking materials are of the standard expected.
Preparing, loading and unloading outbound cargo for vendors, ensuring that you are complying with company procedures and risk assessments.
Assisting with the backload cargo dispatch process, ensuring the cargo backload is managed and dispatched according to company procedures and risk assessments.
Carrying out general yard work including slinging / bundling pipe, and various crane and forklift duties.
Maintaining general warehouse and yard tidiness.
Contributing to continuous improvement in order to enhance service delivery and work instructions.
Assisting with administrative requirements.

Role Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

O’ level standard of education.
Forklift use certification.
Good working knowledge of English.
Capable of following instructions and respecting internal policies and standard operating procedures.
An ability to complete work responsibilities effectively and in a responsible manner.
