We are seeking a Machine Operator – Food Packaging who will be responsible for operating and monitoring packaging machinery to ensure products are packed, labelled, and prepared in accordance with company standards, food safety regulations, and production targets.

Job Overview

The Machine Operator – Food Packaging is responsible for operating and monitoring packaging machinery to ensure finished products are correctly packed, sealed, labelled, and prepared for distribution. This role plays an important part in maintaining production efficiency, ensuring product quality, minimising waste, and complying with all food safety and hygiene standards

Job Details

Operate and monitor packaging machinery, including sealing, filling, wrapping, and labelling equipment
Set up machines for different product runs and packaging requirements
Adjust machine settings to maintain production efficiency and product quality
Ensure products are correctly packed, sealed, and labelled according to company specifications
Verify label information, including product names, batch numbers, expiry dates, and barcodes
Carry out regular quality checks and remove defective or non-compliant products
Perform basic troubleshooting and report machine faults or operational issues
Load packaging materials and ensure sufficient supplies throughout production
Maintain accurate production records, including output, downtime, and batch information
Follow all HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures
Assist with cleaning and routine maintenance of packaging equipment
Perform other duties that may be assigned, depending on business necessities

What Makes You A Strong Candidate

Previous experience in food production or packaging is considered an asset
Basic understanding of HACCP and food safety standards
Ability to operate packaging machinery safely and efficiently
Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills
Strong attention to detail, particularly when checking packaging and labelling accuracy
Good organisational and teamwork skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
Willingness to work shifts, including weekends when required
