Further to this, the company is seeking to engage a Head of Special Projects, an opportunity to form part of these strong and dominant brands.

The Head of Special Projects will play a critical role in driving strategic initiatives that support UNEC’s business growth and operational efficiency. Reporting to top management, this leadership position is responsible for managing and executing special projects that span multiple departments and align with the company’s market expansion and innovation goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of special projects involving large projects, market expansions, operational improvements, and cross-functional collaborations.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including supplier and brand representatives, to ensure seamless project delivery aligned with brand standards and company objectives.
Analyse business needs and market trends within sectors such as warehousing, material handling, earth moving, marine, and power generation.
Oversee resource allocation, budgeting, timelines, and risk management for all special projects.
Develop and implement strategies that support innovation, competitive advantage, and sustainable growth within assigned projects.
Provide regular progress reports and executive summaries to senior management and stakeholders.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process optimisation and operational excellence.
Represent UNEC at industry events and contribute to strengthening the company’s brand presence and reputation in networking and key markets.

Qualifications and Experience:

Proven experience in project management or leadership roles within sectors related to equipment, heavy machinery, or industrial solutions.
Knowledge of BOQ, POW, ACAD and project management systems.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
Can-do and mature attitude in decision-making.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and lead cross-functional initiatives, and a sense of responsibility to assume accountability for projects’ outcomes.
Relevant academic qualifications in Business Management, Engineering, or related fields preferred.
The ideal candidate must be self-driven, sales-oriented, target-driven, demonstrate excellent organisation and interpersonal skills and must also be willing to travel.
