Melita Power Diesel is seeking a Proposal Engineer for its On-Site Energy department in Malta.

The role will be responsible for preparing accurate technical and commercial quotations and tender submissions for generator sets, energy systems, spare parts, overhauls, installations, testing and commissioning.

Main responsibilities:

Review customer enquiries, technical specifications, drawings, bills of quantities and tender documents.
Prepare complete technical and commercial quotations.
Obtain and compare prices from suppliers and subcontractors.
Calculate equipment, labour, transport, installation and commissioning costs.
Prepare scopes of supply, assumptions, exclusions, delivery periods, payment terms and warranty conditions.
Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Logistics and Operations.
Manage quotation and tender deadlines and ensure submissions are issued on time.
Respond to customer clarifications and revise proposals when required.
Maintain the enquiry and quotation tracker.
Hand over awarded projects to the execution team with all relevant technical and commercial information.

Requirements:

Previous hands-on experience preparing and issuing quotations and tender submissions is essential.
A technical qualification in mechanical, electrical, industrial or energy engineering.
At least three years of relevant experience in proposals, estimating, tendering or technical sales.
Experience in power generation, generator sets, engines, energy systems or industrial equipment is preferred.
Ability to understand technical specifications and prepare accurate cost estimates.
Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
Fluent written and spoken English.
Willingness to travel when required.

The position is full-time and based in Malta, reporting to the Head of On-Site Energy.
