The Director of St Aloysius College invites interested applicants to submit their CVs for the post of part-time Science Laboratory Technician based at our Sixth Form.

Duties and responsibilities of the selected candidate will include:

The safe custody, repair and maintenance of equipment under their charge;
Carrying out the general maintenance of equipment;
Preparation of test pieces and necessary components to construct equipment for student project work;
Construction of laboratory equipment for the school;
Modification or extension to laboratory equipment;
Maintaining in good working order tools, apparatus and equipment and providing suitable materials as may be required for the efficient training of students;
Technical reporting in English and Maltese;
Carrying out other instructions given by the Head of School or his / her representative.

Entry requirements

All applicants must have completed a course of study under the Technician Apprenticeship Scheme (TAS); or have successfully completed a Science Laboratory Trainee Course run by the Education Division; or be in possession of at least the Ordinary Technician Diploma (OTD) of the City and Guilds of London Institute or a recognised equivalent qualification. Fluency in English and Maltese is compulsory.
