Senior Telecommunications Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Telecommunications Engineer to take ownership of critical messaging platforms, with a strong focus on SMS and telco protocols.

In this role, you’ll ensure the performance, reliability, and uptime of messaging services across on-premise and cloud-based environments, working closely with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and internal teams.

• Monitor and optimise application performance, reliability, and availability
• Troubleshoot messaging and protocol issues using tools like Wireshark
• Analyse end-to-end message flows and resolve connectivity issues (e.g., SMPP, SIP, SIGTRAN)
• Coordinate with MNOs for integrations, incident resolution, and service restoration
• Execute change requests (planning, rollout, validation, testing)
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver enhancements and maintain service quality

Note: This role focuses on troubleshooting and analysis. Software bugs are handled by development teams, and network configuration is managed separately.

• Strong experience with A2P/P2A gateways, SMSCs, and STPs
• Solid knowledge of SMPP, SIP, SIGTRAN, MAP, and SS7 protocols
• Experience working with Linux environments and SCTP
