Our client is seeking to recruit a Risk & Operations Officer to support the ongoing risk management, operational oversight and financial monitoring of an Alternative Investment Fund ("AIF")

The successful candidate will form part of the Risk Committee and will work closely with the CEO, Risk Manager, investment management function and the Fund's external service providers.

The role combines investment and operational risk oversight with hands-on monitoring of NAVs, liquidity, cash flows, budgets and other operational matters. It is therefore particularly suited to an individual with previous experience within the AIF and/or UCITS sector who understands both the regulatory framework and the practical day-to-day operation of an investment fund.

Remote working is supported, although the individual will be expected to work from the office at least one day per week, as well as attend in person when reasonably required for key meetings or operational matters.

This role is on a part time basis of 15-20 hours.

Duties include:

Form part of the Fund's Risk Committee and actively contribute to its meetings, reporting and ongoing oversight.
Assist the Risk Manager in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the
Fund's Risk Management Framework and Risk Management Policy.
Monitor the Fund's principal investment, market, liquidity, concentration, counterparty, operational and other relevant risks.
Assist with the preparation and review of periodic risk reports, risk indicators, limits and related management information
Monitor compliance with applicable risk limits and investment parameters and escalate exceptions or emerging risks as appropriate.
Assist with periodic liquidity monitoring, stress testing and scenario analysis where applicable.
Support the Risk Manager and CEO with ad hoc risk analysis and regulatory or Board reporting as required.
Liaise with the investment management function and external service providers on risk-related matters.
Perform periodic review and oversight of NAV calculations prepared by the Fund Administrator.
Review material NAV movements, portfolio valuations, accruals, fees, subscriptions/redemptions and other relevant NAV components.
Investigate unusual movements, discrepancies or exceptions and liaise with the Fund
Administrator and other service providers as required.
Assist with the oversight of valuation processes and the timely receipt of valuation information for underlying investments.
Maintain appropriate evidence and records of NAV review and oversight procedures
Monitor the Fund's cash positions and projected cash flows.
Maintain cash-flow forecasts taking into account investments, subscriptions, redemptions, capital calls, distributions, fees and operating expenses.
Identify potential liquidity requirements or shortfalls and escalate these to the CEO, Risk Manager and/or relevant investment personnel.
Assist with monitoring upcoming funding requirements and significant expected cash movements.
Assist with the preparation and ongoing monitoring of the Fund's annual budget.
Monitor actual expenditure against budget and investigate material variances
Maintain forecasts of recurring and exceptional Fund expenses.
Support the CEO with financial analysis, budgeting and management information as required.
Assist with the day-to-day operational oversight of the Fund and its key service providers
Liaise, as required, with the Fund Administrator, Depositary/Custodian, investment managers, auditors and other service providers.
Assist in preparing information and reporting for the Board of Directors and relevant committees.
Maintain appropriate operational, risk and oversight records
Support regulatory reporting, audits, due diligence exercises and service-provider reviews where required.
Assist with the implementation and monitoring of internal policies and procedures relevant to the role.
Undertake other risk, operational, financial or governance-related duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.

Requirements

Previous professional experience within the AIF, UCITS, asset management or fund services sector.
Practical understanding of investment funds and their operational lifecycle.
Experience with NAV review, fund accounting, risk management, investment operations or fund oversight.
Good understanding of investment and operational risk concepts, including market risk, liquidity and counterparty risks, and concentration risk.
Local experience is required for this role
