As our clinic continues to grow, we are looking for a Medical Receptionist to join our reception team.

Role Description

This is an on-site position based at St Mary’s Clinic in Mosta.

As a Medical Receptionist, you will be one of the first points of contact for our patients and will play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the clinic.

The position involves a wide range of reception, customer service and administrative responsibilities. You will work alongside other receptionists and collaborate closely with doctors, healthcare professionals and the wider clinic team.

Key Responsibilities

Answering incoming telephone calls and assisting patients with their enquiries
Booking, rescheduling and confirming patient appointments
Greeting and welcoming patients arriving at the clinic
Checking patients in and directing them appropriately
Communicating clearly and professionally with patients, both in person and over the phone
Taking payments and handling day-to-day front desk transactions
Managing appointment schedules for doctors and healthcare professionals
Using the clinic's computer and appointment-management systems
Carrying out general administrative duties using Microsoft Word, Excel and other office software
Maintaining accurate patient and appointment information
Working collaboratively as part of a multi-receptionist team
Coordinating with doctors and other members of the clinical team
Maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Assisting with other reception and administrative duties required for the smooth running of the clinic

Qualifications & Requirements

Excellent proficiency in English is essential, both spoken and written
Proficiency in Maltese is considered a strong asset
Good computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Confident and professional telephone manner
Friendly, welcoming and patient-focused attitude
Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to remain professional and organised in a busy clinical environment
Good attention to detail and accuracy
Reliability, discretion and respect for patient confidentiality
Previous experience in reception, administration, customer service or a healthcare setting is considered an asset
Previous medical reception experience is preferred but not essential. Training on the clinic's systems and procedures will be provided to the successful candidate.
