M. Demajo (Services) Limited is currently seeking to recruit a meticulous and responsible individual for the position of Trainee Accountant.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports and management accounts.
Prepare monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports within established deadlines.
Support the annual budgeting process and financial planning activities.
Assist in the preparation of annual draft financial statements.
Support external auditors by preparing audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
Assist with internal audit exercises and compliance reviews.
Prepare and submit statutory reports, including NSO submissions.
Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and stock count requirements where applicable.
Assist in the preparation of tax payments and related tax reporting.
Prepare and submit VAT returns and other VAT-related declarations.
Support compliance with taxation and VAT requirements.
Maintain accounting ledgers and ensure accurate posting of financial transactions.
Perform bank, supplier, and other account reconciliations.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
Review and process payments in a timely manner.
Record fixed asset acquisitions, disposals, and related transactions.
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records and reports.
Carry out any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

Have completed part one of the ACCA qualification
Minimum of 2 years’ relevant accounting or finance experience.
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Have a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel.
Possess excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills, and is able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines;
Be familiar with accounting software.
Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Be an effective team player.
Verbal communication in Maltese will be considered an asset.
