The Painter is responsible for carrying out painting, decorating, and surface preparation works throughout the property to ensure that guest rooms, public areas, offices, and other facilities are maintained to a high standard

Key Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling, and priming before painting.

Apply paint, varnish, stain, wallpaper, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, furniture, and other surfaces.

Repair damaged plaster, cracks, and holes before painting.

Carry out touch-up painting and redecorating as part of preventive maintenance.

Mix and match paint colours to achieve the required finish.

Inspect painted surfaces and carry out corrective work where necessary.

Maintain painting tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition.

Ensure work areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe during and after completing tasks.

Respond promptly to maintenance requests related to painting and decorating.

Follow all health and safety procedures, including the safe handling and storage of paints, solvents, and other materials.

Work closely with the Maintenance Team and other departments to minimise disruption to guests and operations.

Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Painter, preferably in a hotel, commercial, or residential environment.

Good knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing materials.

Ability to use painting tools and equipment safely and effectively.

Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, when required.
