PKF Malta is currently looking to recruit an energetic Senior Economics Advisor to work within our growing Advisory team.

PKF Malta is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Economics Advisor to join our growing Advisory team. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with experience in advisory, economics, finance, accounting, internal audit, data analytics, business consulting or related disciplines who are looking to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across both the public and private sectors.

Duties

As a Senior Economics Advisor, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Managing advisory engagements from planning through to successful completion.
• Leading research, business analysis, feasibility studies, economic and financial assessments, and other consultancy assignments.
• Analysing qualitative and quantitative data to generate meaningful insights and practical recommendations.
• Developing financial models, forecasting tools and analytical frameworks to support strategic decision-making.
• Conducting economic, financial, operational and sectoral analyses, depending on project requirements.
• Preparing high-quality reports, business cases, policy papers and client presentations.
• Advising clients on business strategy, investment decisions, governance, funding opportunities and organisational improvement.
• Supporting organisations with funding applications, business planning and economic development initiatives.
• Managing client relationships and acting as a trusted advisor throughout engagements.
• Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and providing technical guidance and mentoring.
• Contributing to business development activities, including proposals, tenders and client presentations.
• Representing PKF Malta during meetings, workshops and industry events.

Skillsets and requirements

• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to solve complex business problems.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong report writing and presentation skills.
• Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to understand clients' strategic objectives.
• Experience using analytical, financial or statistical tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI, Stata, R, SPSS, Python or similar).
• Ability to work independently while leading project teams.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Must be based in Malta.

Education and experience

• A Master's Degree (MQF Level 7) in Economics, Finance, Accountancy, Business, Data Analytics, Public Policy, Internal Audit, Statistics or another relevant discipline.
• Minimum five years' professional experience in advisory, economics, finance, accounting, internal audit, management consulting, public policy, data analytics or a related professional services environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading research and advisory projects.
• Experience mentoring junior professionals will be considered an asset.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Financial or economic modelling
• Data analytics and business intelligence
• Internal audit or risk advisory
• Business strategy and organisational improvement
• Feasibility studies and business planning
• Economic impact assessments
• Policy evaluation and research
• Funding advisory and grant management
