This senior Compliance opportunity is with a fast-growing international business at the intersection of fintech, payments and crypto, allowing you to build your career within an innovative company shaping the future of global payments across different markets and business models. You will join a collaborative, international Compliance team, working alongside experienced professionals and senior stakeholders, enabling you to gain exposure to a fast-paced, evolving regulatory environment. The position offers the pathway to partner closely with cross-functional teams to develop and improve compliance technology and automation, putting you in a position to combine your regulatory expertise with next-generation compliance solutions.

As a Chief Compliance & MLRO, you will have the opportunity to take real ownership and shape the compliance function, rather than simply maintaining an established framework, empowering you with the autonomy and visibility to make a lasting impact on the function. You will play a key role in building, developing and scaling the function, with high visibility and the opportunity to influence the direction of the business as it continues to grow, giving you the potential to make a meaningful impact at both a local and strategic level.

For an experienced MLRO, this offers high ownership, direct senior-level exposure, international regulatory experience and the platform to shape compliance within a rapidly evolving fintech and crypto environment. The role also includes an equity grant alongside a benefits package, providing the opportunity to participate in the company's continued growth.

You will:

Lead MLRO duties, internal escalations, STR/SAR decisions, records, and FIAU engagement
Drive MFSA authorisations, regulatory responses, remediation, and ongoing regulatory updates
Own risk assessments, KYC/CDD/EDD, sanctions screening, UBO/PEP checks, and transaction monitoring
Maintain compliance policies, Board/CRO reporting, staff training, and compliance records
Develop the compliance function, grow the team, and partner with cross-functional teams to strengthen compliance tools, automation, and group-wide frameworks

Skills /Experience:

6 + years in AML/CFT and regulatory compliance across payments, fintech, EMI/PSP, or crypto
Previous MFSA approval as an MLRO/Key Function Holder at a Malta-licensed entity, with hands-on experience under the PMLFTR/FIAU framework and direct STR filing
Strong knowledge of MiCA, MFSA CASP requirements and Malta/EU regulations, with experience dealing with regulators and owning compliance policies

Salary / Remuneration: €100,000 - €120,000 (Depending on Experience) + equity grant and attractive benefits package.
