We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

Preventative and Corrective Maintenance
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks in accordance with approved schedules.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and corrective work orders.
- Inspect, troubleshoot and repair building systems, equipment and hotel facilities.
- Perform routine maintenance on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC and general building systems, within the scope of competence and qualifications.
- Identify maintenance issues and report significant defects or risks to the Engineering Management team.
- Ensure all maintenance works are completed efficiently and to the required quality standards.
Operational Support
- Support hotel operations by maintaining guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities and plant rooms in excellent condition.
- Minimise disruption to guests and operational departments when carrying out maintenance activities.
- Assist with room inspections and ensure maintenance-related guest concerns are resolved promptly.
- Participate in emergency response activities and support business continuity requirements when required.
- Provide technical assistance to colleagues and support departmental projects and initiatives.
Health, Safety and Compliance
- Follow all company health, safety and environmental procedures at all times.
- Ensure tools, equipment and work areas are maintained in a safe and orderly condition.
- Comply with statutory regulations, engineering standards and company policies.
- Report hazards, incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions promptly.
- Support compliance inspections, audits and testing requirements as directed.
Equipment and Asset Care
- Maintain engineering tools, equipment and maintenance materials in good working order.
- Assist in monitoring spare parts, consumables and maintenance inventory.
- Record maintenance activities accurately using approved systems and documentation.
- Support efforts to improve asset reliability, efficiency and equipment performance.
- Contribute to energy conservation and sustainability initiatives across the property.

Skills and Knowledge

Knowledge of general building maintenance and engineering systems.
Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently.
Good understanding of health and safety practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritise workload and respond to operational requirements.
Basic computer literacy for maintenance systems and reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

Technical certification, trade qualification or equivalent practical experience in engineering, maintenance or a related field.
Wireman's Licence A and / or B would be considered an asset.
Previous experience in hotel maintenance, facilities management or a similar environment is preferred.
Experience working with preventative maintenance programmes and work order systems is advantageous.
