The Label Production Operator is responsible for printing and cutting all labels for the daves Foods exclusive brand range, operating the desktop label finishing plotter and other label production machines.

Key Responsibilities

Operate the label finishing plotter and other label print/cut machines to produce daves Foods labels.
Set up and run print jobs, including loading media, selecting correct cutting conditions, and running cut tests before full production runs.
Set up and operate slitting equipment according to job specifications, ensuring correct roll widths, tension and alignment.
Maintain colour management and print quality consistency across a production run, including test prints and approvals before full runs.
Perform quality checks on printed and cut labels - checking registration, cut depth, and finish against brand specification before labels are released for use.
Ensure finished labels meet food safety and regulatory requirements, including legibility, barcode readability, ink adhesion and durability.
Carry out routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting, including blade replacement, blade exposure and force adjustment, and cutting mat checks.
Perform daily cleaning and basic preventive maintenance, report equipment issues promptly and keep maintenance logs up to date.
Maintain stock of label consumables (media, blades, cutting mats), carry out stock counts as instructed and always keep extra stock on hand.
Keep accurate production records and traceability in line with HACCP requirements.
Follow daves Foods brand guidelines for label content, layout, and finish.
Report recurring machine or quality issues to the Production Manager.
