Job Description

TL;DR

We’re looking for an exceptional artist that can help us shape the future of game development. Someone who can take the visual lead in Evolution Innovation. You’ll own how our games look and feel, with the freedom to set the direction and a technical team that can build new tools around your creative process.

Why Evolution Innovation?

We’re a highly technical team trusted to explore ambitious game ideas and invent better ways to build them. We have Evolution’s backing and the autonomy to operate like a startup. Decisions stay close to the work, and we move quickly from an idea to something we can play. The bar is high, everyone contributes, and we take pride in how much a focused team can deliver.

You’ll work directly with the engineers building our creative tools. We develop AI-powered tools and asset workflows in-house, tailored to the games we’re making, and keep improving them as we go. Your ideas and experience will help decide which capabilities we build next. That gives you room to push the artwork further and change how it gets made. Nothing is someone else’s problem here: we work through challenges together and take responsibility for the finished game.

What You’ll Do

In one sentence: own the game’s visual identity and raise the quality and pace of our art production.

Set the visual direction and carry it through the whole game, from environments and characters to UI and effects. Develop new IP or adapt established worlds, and guide others with clear creative feedback.
Make the artwork yourself. Create concepts, illustrations and finished assets using 2D, 3D and AI workflows, with the judgment to know where each approach earns its place.
Bring the game to life through animation, effects and responsive visual feedback. Work with developers to make every element feel cohesive and perform well in our HTML5 stack.
Put ideas into playable builds early. Test with players, learn from feedback and data, and move confidently between quick experiments and polished production work.
Help build the next generation of our creative tools. Give engineers concrete feedback, test new AI capabilities and improve asset pipelines through practical scripting and workflow changes. Share methods that help the whole team produce better work, faster.

What We’re Looking For

You’re an accomplished hands-on artist. Your drawing, illustration and digital painting show excellent command of composition, colour, lighting and visual hierarchy.
You have senior experience taking game visuals from concept to production. You work confidently in 2D and 3D and can give a whole game a distinctive, coherent identity.
You understand how artwork becomes a playable experience, including animation, visual effects, asset integration and performance. HTML5 game experience is a strong plus.
You use AI with intent and control. You can direct, refine and combine outputs with your own artwork, keeping the style consistent and the quality high.
You’re comfortable with asset pipelines, tooling and scripting. You investigate friction, explain what needs to change and work with developers to improve it.
You take ownership and deliver at pace. You communicate clearly, give useful creative feedback and adapt when player testing points somewhere better. Small-team or rapid-prototyping experience is a plus.
You can join us in Stockholm, on-site five days a week.

Your work matters more than a perfect match to our tool list. Show us strong craft, sound judgment and the curiosity to keep getting better.
